AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters)

Just what i need5

I use to connect my PC to the TV and the length is excellent the field is strong however should suggest buying "Belkin Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug/2-RCA Plugs (6ft)" with this because DVI does not transmit sound only video but in general is just what the doctor recommended meMore detail ...

Mediabridge Ultra Series - 10ft High Speed HDMI Cable - Category 2 Certified - Supports 3D - Audio Return Channel - 4Kx2K - 1440p - 1080p - Blu-Ray - PS3 - XBox 360

Good value and I like the end connectors5

OK not much you can say about a cable unless you get one that is bad or "flakey" from a problem with the shield as we read from a previous posting.

I recently upgraded my HDTV system and now have a HDTV Blue-ray and Receiver that supports the HDMI 1.3 spec. This spec enables new high bandwidth features previously not supported in older HDMI cables and equipment. Both the Blue-ray and the HDTV and my Roku-Netflix box are firmware upgradeable so this cable should support their enhancements for at least a couple of years.

Being the quintessential anal-retentive Electrical Engineer I tend to over analyze everything (even if not required). When buying cables (typically the weak link in most systems) you have to determine if the product is manufactured from a reputable vendor or built by a couple of guys in their garage with no quality control. Mediabridge Products is a subsidiary of Broadband Products Inc. Broadband Products has HDMI certification (see hdmi.org for why this is important).

There are two types of HDMI cable Standard (Category 1) and High Speed (Category 2) and they have different performance metrics. A Standard cable can transmit a 1080i signal for 15 meters (49 feet) or more while a High Speed HDMI cable can transmit a 1080p signal for at least 7.5 meters (25 feet). For the most part running cables less than 5 meters either will work but I want to make sure and this cable is Category 2.

Why did I buy this specific cable from this vendor: The vendor has an almost perfect feedback record the product is low cost for the specs fulfilled by Amazon and importantly free shipping and a return policy that pays the shipping for returns/exchanges of defects.

All-in-One Travel Power Plug Adapter for US UK EU AU

Works as advertised and clever design5

First off this is NOT a voltage converter so if you have 110V appliances make sure the power plugs for those are universal (i.e. accept 110-240V) before using them with this overseas. Also the pics on Amazon sort of make it seem like you get three adapters but they are really just different modes of the same adapter -you only get one adapter.

I like that this adapter is compact and lightweight and it comes in a small cloth carrying case. This was important to me because I didn't want anything too bulky or heavy. And unlike other adapters you don't have to carry around all these other plug extensions (i.e. one for each plug type). You can flip a switch on either side and either a UK Europe Asia or US plug will surface. You can then flip or press the other plugs back into the device so that only one plug type is sticking out (just like in the pictures). I used this in Europe with no problems - as you can see the Europe plug juts out more than the other modes. This is very important since many outlets in Europe are inset and without that extra length on the plug the adapter would not reach the outlet.

Also this adapter is universal on both sides. So you can plug virtually any type of plug into it as well. All in all a great product and a great value.

Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (female) Cable for Apple Mac

Works perfectly5

I used this with my late 2008 13 inch MacBook and it works perfectly.

I hooked it up to a 46 inch samsung tv.

oh also not really the adapter's fault thats why i'm still rating it a 5/5 but it doesnt carry audio over the hdmi cord so i had to hook up a separate cable through the headphone jack into the tv.More detail ...

AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable (9.8 Feet/3.0 Meters)

Great inexpensive HDMI cables5

It is a relief to find HDMI cables that are inexpensive and deliver high quality video. I paid $40 for a 4ft cable at Circuit City a year ago and less than half that price for the 10ft cable from Amazon.

As an electrical engineer I can tell you copper is copper. Unless Monster cable has coaxial wire for each signal line which they don't because then the cable would be 10x larger than it is then it's just copper wire inside a shield. There's still going to be crosstalk and capacitive coupling and all that stuff. All that "gas filled" stuff doesn't matter either. If you look at the mathematical equasions for the frequency response of an unshielded wire you'd know none of this stuff makes any major difference.

The biggest thing to avoid if you can are ferrite cores on a cable. Ferrite cores are those black blob things that overmold the cable near one or both of the connectors. Ferrite cores act as high frequency filters and may cause signal degradation. They are typically used to comply with FCC laws and other regulatory bodies' radiated emissions laws. They add cost to the cable and typically degrade performance.

Regarding expensive cables HDMI or otherwise what no one asks is the most fundamental question - Why? Let's assume Monster cable isn't lying and they can provide 300 GHz bandwidth or whatever they claim. Why do you need a cable that outperforms so much? It's like owning a car that can go 1000 MPH but the speed limit is 55MPH. In my field that's called "over-engineering" which equates to unnecessary additional cost which is exactly the problem Amazon has solved by sourcing this simple low cost HDMI cable.

While I'm soapboxing gold plating isn't necessary either. Silver is the best conductor followed by Copper and then Gold (third best). Stainless Steel isn't far behind. The only reason gold plating is "better" is Gold does not corrode (but neither does stainless steel... they actually gold plate the stainless steel how dumb is that?). If you are using your cables in a house where the humidity & temp is relatively constant you should never need gold. As far as I can tell Gold is just a gimmick to charge more for cables.More detail ...

Bargaincell- Super High Resolution GOLD Hdmi-Hdmi Cable 4.5m 15Ft for HdTV Plasma Lcd Ps3

Great picture Great value5

I'm not at all as knowledgeable about this stuff as most of the people that write the reviews so this should may good for people who are clueless about this type of stuff. I had read the reviews before buying this and wasn't sure if I should spend the extra $ on Monster cables or not so I bought Monster cables and this at the same time. I was hooking up to Direct TV and a Panasonic Blu-ray to my HP 1080i HD 47" Flat LCT TV so I needed two anyway. When I switch these with the Monster I can't notice any difference in quality. A friend of mine works for Tweeter and helped me with my TV installation so I asked him about it and he said that there's very little difference and he wouldn't spend the $ to upgrade. I spent $15 on these instead $40-$50 on Monster (which would have been $200+ at the store that I bought the TV at) and got the same picture as far as I could tell.More detail ...

Belkin F3U133-10 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cable (10 Feet)

USB printer cable5

I recently needed to buy a USB cable for my new printer and I found out that there are many USB cables at very different prices.
So doing a search I found the "Belkin 10FT USBA/USBB Device Cable" but I was not sure if it would work for a printer. Since it was the less expensive I decided to give it a try.

I'm happy because the cable works great with my USB printer and I found out that the cable actually exceeds the features displayed on amazon site.

The cable manufacturer part number is F3U133-10.
With the following features:
- Hi-speed data transfer to 480Mbps
- 10 FT (3m)
- A plug/ B plug
- High performance 20-gauge power wires.
- USB logo guarantees cables are 100% compliant with current USB specifications (Works with all USB devices A/B plug).
- Works with USB 2.0
- Connect a USB 2.0 or 1.X device to your computer.
- Belkin lifetime warranty.
- Gold plated copper contacts provide maximum conductivity and minimizes data loss.

According to the manufacturer site you can connect your USB printer scanner hard drive and more to your computer. As I said it works great with my USB printer.

I definitively recommend it because I got the less expensive (good length of 10ft) and great quality option for a USB printer cable. I'm also happy because the cable specifications exceeded my expectations for the money I paid.More detail ...

Eforcity New 10 Ft HDMI to HDMI Digital Video Cable GOLD-PLATED

Worked for 7 Months Good Buy3

Well as the old adage goes "You get what you pay for." In this case I paid about $5 including shipping for this product in November 2008. It's now June 2009 and the cable has given up the ghost.

I had it connected to my 24" Samsung monitor via HDMI out on my PC and it worked wonderfully for both that and my Blu-Ray player. Last week however I started to run into problems. Blue specks were distorting the picture on my monitor and causing the displayed picture to do some really funky things. I suspected it could be my graphics card or monitor but it turns out it was the cable.

I don't regret purchasing this cable at all because it was such a good price and it lasted for so long. I do have to warn any potential customers however that you may have to get a replacement in 6-8 months. This is a cheap cable and it wasn't manufactured to last as long as ones you will pay more for.

I'm not recommending going with a Monster HDMI cable but I do have to let you know that a $20 investment in a name-brand or higher quality cable might be in your best interest.

So I'm back to the 4ft DVI cable that came with my PC which should suffice for now as DVI and HDMI can send a crisp HD signal to my monitor.More detail ...
